Health: Join Charity’s London To Canterbury Cycling Challenge
August 4, 2009
Cycling clubs and cycling enthusiasts are being urged to join up to a special charity challenge to help raise money for children with severe disabilities. The ‘Chaucer Challenge’, a cycle ride from Greenwich to Canterbury, is set to take place on Sunday, 13th September, in aid of The Children’s Trust.
The exciting and exhilarating cycle ride, with a choice of a 60-mile or 80-mile route, will appeal to experienced road cyclists. Starting at 8 am from the Royal Park in Greenwich, the route will continue along the North Downs through the countryside of Kent, including Pilgrims’ Way, and finish with a celebratory picnic in Canterbury. With easy-to-follow signs, and plenty of support on the route, including complimentary refreshments and help from cycle mechanics, this should ensure a great day’s cycling. Entry is £25 per cyclist, or £110 for a team of 5. Information packs, with helpful advice on training and fundraising, will be provided to participants.
To join up to the London to Canterbury Challenge, or to find out more about other cycling events, – please telephone 01737 364329, or email: events@thechildrenstrust.org.uk or visit the website: www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/sports.
Money raised from the event will benefit The Children’s Trust, a national charity, which provides care, education and therapy for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs, and rehabilitation services to children with an acquired brain injury.
