Health: Tooth polishing parties launched for National Smile Month

June 1, 2009

tooth_polish_june09Forget Ann Summers and Tupperware – a Worcestershire dental practice has launched tooth-polishing parties in response to requests from both clients and the public alike. The official launch of these coincided with the start of National Smile Month on 17th May.

To date, Beacon DentalCare in Malvern has received the majority of requests for these from bridal and hen parties. Recent research undertaken by the practice found that nearly 50% of wedding parties surveyed wanted to improve the colour of their teeth prior to the big day – primarily to make them look better for the photographs but also to give them a psychological boost too.

Each polishing party can cater for up to 10 people giving them exclusive use of the luxury Beacon DentalCare clinic with its stunning views of the Malvern Hills for over two hours.

As well as getting their teeth professionally polished, for just £37.50 per person, free champagne, tea and coffee as well as use of the state-of-the-art lounge complete with a massage chair and music system come as part of the package. People can also opt to watch a film during the party on the huge plasma screen in the lounge and there’s also a games room complete with Wii.

Commenting on the launch, Karen Sutton, Principal Dentist at Beacon Dentalcare, said:

“People want something more for their money than just a night out and spending money on booze – especially if it’s to celebrate a special occasion. Our tooth polishing parties seem to appeal to everyone – hen parties, stag parties and birthday parties – we’ve even had a request from someone organizing a retirement party and one parent is considering a polishing party for their teenage daughter”.
