Other guests include Lord Paddy Ashdown. He will be talking about what inspired him to write his autobiography - and what could inspire visitors to do the same. The ‘Boy in the Striped Pajamas’ creator John Boyne will be previewing his latest novel. And Poet Benjamin Zephaniah will be reciting his own work plus celebrating Lincolnshire’s literacy link to one of the most famous poetic voices of the 19th Century - Alfred Lord Tennyson.

The festival also sits within the 200th anniversary of the Poet Laureate’s birth who was born and raised in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

The number of events has reached over 60 but we’ve condensed them into five action packed days so people can see more when they come. We want people to get involved in as much as they can during their stay in Lincoln.” said Sara Bullimore, one of the festival’s organisers.

Last year we had sell out events and this year we’re expecting the same. Venues up and down the City, from Lincoln Cathedral to tucked away pubs, are taking part.

maisy_mouse_may09Whatever you fancy we’ve got it - like informal discussion groups, pub quizzes, poetry readings, book signings and children’s events including Angelina Ballerina and appearances from Maisy Mouse and Where’s Walley.” finished Sara Bullimore.
