Returning to the Donmar following her roles in The Vortex, The Cut and John Gabriel Borkman – all directed by Grandage, Deborah Findlay plays Baronesse de Simiane. Jenny Galloway plays Charlotte – she returns to the Donmar where she appeared in Nine, How I Learned to Drive and Electra. Her other theatre credits include Music Man (Chichester Festival Theatre), Les Miserables (Broadhurst Theater, New York), Henry V (Manchester Royal Exchange) and Showboat (Royal Albert Hall). For television, her credits include Wyrdsister, Armadillo and Whistleblower; and for film, In Transit, About a Boy and Christmas Carol.

Rosamund Pike plays Renée, Madame de Sade. Her theatre work includes Gaslight (Old Vic), Summer and Smoke (Bristol Old Vic, Apollo Theatre) and Hitchcock Blonde (Royal Court, Lyric Theatre). Her television credits include Love in a Cold Climate, Trial and Retribution and Wives and Daughters; and for film, Fracture, Pride and Prejudice, The Libertine, Die Another Day and A Rather English Marriage.
