The DVD / CD set is released on Monday 2nd February 2009, the day before the 50th anniversary of when Buddy Holly’s life was taken from him at the tender age of 22. The two disc set contains a CD of Buddy Holly And The Crickets Top Twenty including tracks such as ‘That’ll Be The Day’ and ‘Not Fade Away’, and in addition to this, the DVD includes…

This commemorative set celebrates the life of a man who was a pioneer of rock ‘n’ roll music. Even though he tragically died at an early age, Buddy Holly has inspired musicians and continues to do so. Since his death on 3rd February 1959 many artists have been influenced by Buddy Holly and paid tribute to him in their songs, with the most famous arguably being Don Mclean’s ‘American Pie’, a song that was influenced by Buddy’s death in which he sees the plane crash as “the day the music died”. Other artists that have been inspired by Buddy Holly includes The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, Paul Simon, Elton John, Jarvis Cocker plus many others.
