The New Season at Milton Keynes Theatre spirals onto stage with an exotic feast of acts from undisputed masters of martial arts, The Chinese State Circus (28 Jan–1 Feb).

Just in time for Chinese New Year celebrations, this action packed spectacular combines the agility and precision of the world’s greatest acrobats, exquisite grace of the Wu-Shu flying warriors and the spine-tingling sounds of the famous Peking Opera.

2008 saw Beijing host the Olympic Games for the first time in China and to celebrate this auspicious occasion, The Chinese State Circus bring a brand new spectacle to the UK and Milton Keynes. For the first time outside China this stunning new show features seven of Chinese top cultural troupes.  With world class Acrobats, gymnasts and martial arts from the famous Shaolin Warriors it is a show completely unequalled in any production of physical theatre.

This action-packed production combines the martial arts warriors from the Shaolin Temple with Olympic gymnasts, and some of the world’s best acrobats – The Tai An Acrobatic Troupe with back-flipping acrobats, oriental plate spinning divas, knotted contortionists and much more.

For the first time outside China experience the full cultural range of the Chinese State Circus.  Narrated by one of the most famous characters in Chinese Folklore – the Monkey King -  expect to see a performance bursting with high adrenalin acts, stunts and special effects making for an electrifying evening for the whole family.
